Kwame Nkrumah Memorial, the mausoleum of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Nkrumah was once held in Fort Usher, Usher Town, Accra, a former prison, and was exiled after Ghana's first military coup of 1966. Such was life in West Africa in those days, especially if you fell out of favour with the military. However, many of his aspirations are honoured now and former President Rawlings claims him as the shining example of Ghana's great past.



LAMBADI BEACH
This is the most popular beach in Ghana during holidays and weekends. Labadi beach as it is Popularly known, hosts regular parties and concerts of a variety of music genres. There are also

NATIONAL MUSEUM
The National Museum in Accra is one of the most visited and oldest museums in Ghana. Established in 1957, the museum was officially opened by the Duchess of Kent. It has on display splendid exhibits that reflect the heritage of Ghana from prehistoric to modern times.







ABURI GARDEN
The Aburi Botanical Gardens were set up at the end of the 19th century. Today, that historical legacy is there for all to see, with a good selection of exotic plants, seasonal flowers and trees on view. Located just over 30 km / 19 miles to the north of Accra, Aburi Botanical Gardens cover approximately 65 hectares / 160 acres and enjoy excellent views across the Accra coastal plain. Native butterflies and colourful African birds are to be found all around these charming gardens.
